Whipped Chamomile Butter

This recipe is a fantastic treat and excellent with cheese and crackers, apple and/or pear slices and more!

The recipe uses the cooked chamomile flowers from the chamomile salve recipe, but is easy to make if you simply wish to just make chamomile butter. If interested, check out my chamomile salve recipe and learn about the many benefits of chamomile!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cooked chamomile flowers, finely crushed (from chamomile salve recipe) 
  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter, room temperature 
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar 

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mash the cooked chamomile flowers finely with a spoon. 
  2. Once mashed, add room temperature butter and mix until well incorporated. 
  3. Add brown sugar and mix thoroughly. More or less brown sugar may be added to make it more or less sweet, respectively. 
  4. Enjoy!
  5. *If not enjoyed immediately, store in a jar and place in the fridge. One hour before eating, let the butter sit on the counter to warm up and become easily spreadable. 
  6. **If wanting to simply use this recipe and not make the chamomile salve, cook 1/2 cup of chamomile flowers in 1 cup of coconut oil and cook on low heat until the chamomile flowers are golden brown.
